The Community of Tarish Pit and the Dominica Air and Seaport Authority plunge into mourning following an incident which left one man dead

A 47-year-old stevedore, Otis Francis of Tarish Pit, has died following an industrial incident at Woodbridge Bay Port in Fond Colé during the early hours of Friday, 17 July 2026.

Preliminary investigations indicate Mr. Francis was struck by a shipping container and sustained fatal injuries.

Police Public Relations Officer ASP Fixton Henderson says investigations into the matter are ongoing.
