The Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU) says its members are expressing appreciation for recent gains secured through negotiations, including a payment equivalent to one month’s salary received by employees of the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation (DSWMC) last week.

In a press release, the union said the payment, commonly referred to as a “bubble”, followed negotiations conducted on behalf of the corporation’s workers.

The DPSU noted that discussions with DSWMC management remain ongoing, although some proposals previously agreed upon by both parties have already been implemented.

Meanwhile, General Secretary Thomas Letang is scheduled to meet with union members on Wednesday to determine the DPSU’s final position on salary increases for the 2024–2026 triennium.

In a separate development, Letang has announced that the DPSU and the management of the Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank, commonly known as the AID Bank, will commence salary negotiations in earnest on November 16.

The negotiations will provide an opportunity for the union and the bank’s management to address salary-related matters on behalf of employees.
