Nine Years After Hurricane Maria, PM Skerrit Outlines Dominica’s Continued Journey to Climate Resilience

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says nine years ago, on the night of September 18, 2017, Dominica went through hell however nine years later the road to a truly climate-resilient country continues, strengthened by the collective spirit of the people.

The Prime Minister issued a statement in Parliament today on the occasion of the 9^th anniversary of the passage of Category 5 Hurricane Maria.

The Prime Minister said Hurricane Maria destroyed 100 percent of Dominica’s agriculture.

Prime Minister Skerrit says those who thought the country would never recover underestimated the Dominican people.
