Investigations underway into the fire which broke out in the early hours of this morning in Roseau

Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Consistency Melissa Poponne Skerrit says investigations are underway into a fire that broke out in the early hours of this morning near Upper Lane, Great Malborough Street, and Kennedy Avenue.

Following an assessment, it has been determined that eight buildings were destroyed, several of which housed businesses.

Mrs Skerrit made this statement during a press conference this morning.

Meantime, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has ruled out suggestions to involve outside experts in the fire investigation.
