Dr. Damien Dublin Urges Dominicans to Remember Emancipation Day and Pursue Reparatory Justice

Chairman of the Dominica Reparations Committee, Dr. Damien Dublin, is urging Dominicans to continue commemorating Emancipation Day, describing the abolition of slavery as one of the most significant moments in the nation’s history.
Speaking in observance of Emancipation Day, Dr. Dublin emphasized the importance of remembering and celebrating August 1, noting that the occasion serves as a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom.
Meanwhile, the chairman reiterated that the call for reparations for slavery must continue.
