Dominicans Urged to Monitor Two Tropical Waves Approaching the Lesser Antilles

Dominicans are being advised to monitor two approaching tropical waves in the Atlantic.

Carlisle Jno Baptiste, Communications Specialist at the Office of Disaster Management, says the first wave, which is located about 650 miles east of the Lesser Antillies, now has a low chance of development over the next few days.

A flood watch or warning may become necessary, according to Jno Baptiste.

The Director of Met Services, Marshal Alexander, says the Met Office expects an increase in rainfall activity from late tonight into Saturday.

Alexander adds that a further deterioration in sea conditions are expected “with seas going as far as 12 feet”.
