A program to destroy over 300 weapons which were confiscated from criminal activities have begun



The police have begun a program to destroy over 300 weapons which were confiscated from criminal activities.
The program is a collaboration of the police, CARICOM IMPACTS and the US Embassy in Barbados.
Assistant director of Policy, Strategy and Innovation at CARICOM IMPACS Callixtus Joseph told a ceremony at the SSU compound in Morne Bruce this morning, that the destruction of weapons should not be taken lightly.

Meantime, Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore has hailed the cooperation which exist between the US Government and Dominica.
The US Embassy is funding the program to destroy over 300 weapons over the next few weeks.
