Health care services have been made more accessible in the north of the island with the opening of the new Savanne Paille Health Centre.

Acting Director of Primary Health Care Dr Mutiu Olagunju says the new health center will provide primary health care services such as screening in its initial phase.

Meantime, Family Nurse Practitioner of the  Portsmouth Health District Nurse Maria Dubois says the new center is critical in the promotion of primary health care for that part of the island.
