The Dominica Fire and Ambulance Services has responded to a total of 75 fires across the island between January 1 and May 10, 2026.

Fire Chief Wayne Letang says bushfires accounted for the majority of emergencies handled by the department during the period.

Meantime, the fire chief is urging the public to cooperate with emergency personnel and follow proper fire safety practices.
