The Ministry of Health has implemented precautionary public health measures to protect citizens, residents, and visitors, as it closely monitors the ongoing Ebola Virus outbreak in Central and East Africa.

This follows the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) recent declaration of the current outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

Meantime, the Ministry urges individuals to exercise extreme caution and carefully assess the necessity of travelling to countries identified by the Africa CDC as being at elevated risk for Ebola transmission.

The ministry further assures Dominicans that the risk of Ebola in Dominica is currently low.
