Former Parliamentary Representative of Roseau North Danny Lugay confirmed as the UWP candidate for Roseau North by-election
Former Parliamentary Representative for Roseau North Danny Lugay has been confirmed as the UWP candidate for the Roseau North seat in the upcoming by- election.
Party leader Dr Thomson Fontaine said the party met this week and gave Lugay the green light to contest the seat left vacant by the resignation of Miriam Blanchard last Friday.
Lugay last contested the Roseau North seat in 2O19 when he beat the DLP’s candidate Joseph Isaac 2134 votes to 1638.
Lugay and the UWP did not contest the last general elections in 2O22.
Earlier this week, the Dominica Labour Party named businesswoman , educator and former president of the National Youth Council Ashma McDougal as its candidate. A by-election to fill the vacant Roseau North seat is due to be held within 9O days.
