GEMS Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Marvlyn James as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
James will lead a portfolio that includes two resorts, which are Secret Bay and Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort, where she previously served as General Manager.
According to a press release, Founder Gregor Nassief will now transition to Group Executive Director.
The release added that this appointment reflects GEMS’ commitment to developing leadership from within.
James has held several senior positions across the Group, including General Manager of Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort, Group Director of Sales and Marketing, and Director of Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives.
Her experience spans operations, development, sales and marketing, and Group-wide strategic initiatives. She previously served as President of the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association.
The release further added that James will assume responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the Group and its executive team, working closely with Nassief and the boards of the Group’s companies.
As Group Executive Director, Nassief remains actively involved, with a focus on strategy, overall business performance and selected strategic projects.
