Candidates contesting general elections in Dominica now require to pay a deposit of 1OOO dollars

Candidates contesting general elections in Dominica will now have to pay a deposit of 1OOO dollars.

In the past, candidates would pay 5OO dollars to confirm their participation in the polls.

Chairman of the Electoral Commission Duncan Stowe says the new fee of 1OOO dollars  was approved in the new election laws.
