Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore is calling on the leadership of the Dominica Police Force to fully embrace community policing as a core strategy for improving public safety.
Speaking at the Police Awards Ceremony held on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at the State House Conference Centre, Blackmoore warned that the continued absence of strong community-based policing initiatives would only make the work of the police more challenging.
He urged police management to deepen engagement with citizens, noting that stronger community relationships are essential for effective law enforcement and crime prevention.
