CEO of Discover Dominica Authority and Director of Tourism, Marva Williams, has emphasised the importance of residents and visitors hiking national trails being accompanied by a certified tour guide.
Her statement follows a recent incident in which two Swiss visitors were reported missing on January 26, 2026, along Segment Three of the Waitukubuli National Trail.
On Tuesday, the visitors were successfully rescued after a coordinated search and rescue operation.

Meantime, Williams announced that the Discover Dominica Authority will host its annual Tour Guide Training and Certification Programme at the Dominica State College.
