Band Leaders Warned to Follow Carnival Rules; Authorities Say Stage Set for Two Days of Street Jump
Band leaders and event organizers have been put on notice ahead of Carnival Monday and Tuesday, with officials warning that strict adherence to established rules will be enforced.
Charlene White-Christian of the Carnival Road Parade Committee says band leaders must comply with the guidelines that were formally submitted to them, stressing that failure to do so will attract consequences.
Charlene White-Christian emphasized that the regulations are designed to ensure public safety, proper coordination of bands, and the smooth flow of activities along the parade route over the two days.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), Marva Williams, says all systems are in place for what is expected to be an exciting and well-organized street jump on Monday and Tuesday.
