A $103-million-dollar contract signed for the construction of a transmission network from Laudat to Fond Cole

The Dominica Geothermal Development company has signed a contract for $103 million dollars with an Indian company for the construction of a transmission network.  The transmission network, a key component of the geothermal project is from Laudat to DOMLEC facility at Fond Cole.

Minister for Energy Dr. Vince Vince Henderson told the signing ceremony with Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) that this is an exciting stage of the project.

Meantime, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said it is unfortunate that Dominica was forced to access the loan of $103 million dollars from the World Bank for construction of the transmission network.
