Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has established a new committee to address issues affecting doctors, following protest action over salary payments and other concerns.
The committee was announced on Wednesday after doctors protested what they described as the failure of the Dominica Hospitals Authority to pay their September salaries.

However, the 16 doctors who were reportedly not paid for September received their salaries on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Skerrit also dismissed reports that 80 doctors had gone unpaid for several months, describing that information as false. He maintained that only 16 medical practitioners were affected by the September salary issue.
The Prime Minister says the newly established committee will address the concerns raised by doctors.
