UWI Global Campus Dominica to Celebrate Graduates at Recognition Ceremony
The University of the West Indies Global Campus Dominica will host its Recognition of Graduates Ceremony on Thursday, February 5, 2026, to honour members of the Global Campus Class of 2025.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Truth & Grace Fellowship Global Church beginning at 10:00 a.m., and will be presided over by Dr. Francis Severin, Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Global Campus.
A total of 48 students from Dominica will be recognized during the ceremony, including 41 undergraduate students and seven graduate students. The cohort recorded strong academic performances, with 51 percent of undergraduate graduates achieving First Class Honours, while 60 percent of graduate students earned Distinctions.
The top three undergraduate students from Dominica are Nikita Shillingford, who pursued a Bachelor of Science in General Management Studies, Kerissa St. Rose and Christine Maxime, both of whom completed Bachelor of Science degrees in International Management.
Among the graduate students, the top performers are Kirk Edwards, who completed a Master of Science in Instructional Technology and Design, Maureen Valmond, a Master of Science in Project Management graduate, and Niomi Remy-Laurent, who earned a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies.
Head of the UWI Global Campus, Dr. Kimone Joseph, explained that the local Recognition of Graduates Ceremony is held annually to complement the university’s Virtual Graduation Ceremony, which involves graduates across the entire campus.
She noted that the event provides Dominica’s graduating class with the opportunity to celebrate their achievement in person with family, friends, and well-wishers.
This year’s ceremony will feature remarks from Dr. David Johnson, Medical Doctor, while Nikita Shillingford will deliver the Outstanding Graduate Remarks on behalf of the graduating class.
