Concerns raised over the continued rise in reported cases of child abuse in Dominica

Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Services with Specific Responsibility for Children at Risk Dr. Cassandra Williams has raised concern over the continued rise in reported cases of child abuse in Dominica.

Her remarks as Dominica joined the international community in the observance of World Children’s Day under the theme “For Every Child Every Right.”

Dr. Williams says solutions must be found to deal with the issues of child abuse in Dominica.

Meantime, Director in the Department of Social Services Delia Giddings Stedman says there has been a 42 percent increase in child abuse cases in Dominica as compared to 2023.
