Superintendent of the Dominica State prison, Jeffrey Edmund, says an increase in magistrates at the court has contributed to a decline in the remand population.
In his jail delivery report at the close of the January session of the High Court, the prison superintendent disclosed that 84 men are currently on remand, 29 are facing murder charges, and 11 are facing sexual offences.
