Jamaica Increases Minimum Wage


CaribWorldNews, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Fri. May 1, 2009: Jamaica has increased its minimum wage by just over US$3 per week.

Come May 11, the new minimum wage will be hiked from J$3,700 or over US$41 per week to J$4,070 or US$45 a week.

Security Guards will see their wages increased from J$5,500 or just over US$61 per week to J$6,050 or US$65 per week.
