Immigrant Housekeeper To UK`s Caribbean AG Charged


CaribWorldNews, LONDON, England, Mon. Nov. 30, 2009: The undocumented immigrant housekeeper to Dominica-born UK Attorney General, Baroness Patricia Scotland, has been slapped with fraud charged.

The Tonga native, Lolohi Tapui, has been charged with having a false passport, fraud and overstaying her visa.

Tapui was employed as a housekeeper to Scotland but the Baroneess claimed she did not know the immigrant did not have the legal right to work in the UK.

Baroness Scotland has been fined £5,000 for hiring a foreign national without a work permit and made a public apology. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has let her keep her job.

The 54-year-old Baroness Scotland grew up in Walthamstow and attended Walthamstow School for Girls.
