Five Killed In Peru


News Americas, LIMA, Peru, Tues. April 5, 2011: A mudslide in the southeastern region of Cuzco, Peru has claimed five lives.
The dead include a child. Three others were reported missing by Peruvian emergency management officials.

Seven people were rescued and emergency management officials said they believe the three missing may be under a dislodged rock.

The mudslide occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday following several days of torrential rains in the area. It buried two dwellings in a neighborhood some 807 miles southeast of Lima.
