Dominica’s geothermal energy project reaches new stage in its development

Dominica’s Geothermal Energy Development Project has reached a new stage with the signing of a US $38.9-million-dollar contract.

The contract was signed between the Dominica Geothermal Development Company Ltd. and an Indian company for the construction of transmission lines from Laudat to Fond Cole.

Minister for Energy Dr. Vince Henderson said there has been steady progress with the Geothermal Energy Development Project.

Dr. Henderson stated that a Geothermal Energy Power Plant should be commissioned by 2026.
